Lo5: Be able to use feedback gained to inform the development and planning of an original audio-visual media product

I presented my presentation to one of my tutors and got some great feedback on what I would need to do to further the game, starting off I would need a detailed budget of how much its likely to cost and where I would use the money in order to create and develop the game.

Budget:

Personnel and Activities:
Below is the approximation of how many months it would take for each section of the game to be created and then put together. It also has the amount of staff that would be required in order to get this done as fast as possible. This is also shown in more detail in the gannt chart at the bottom of the post.

Resources and Equipment
For creating the game I would require a few things in order to make it possible, starting off I would need some powerful PC's which would be capable of running all the software quickly and without any issues, I would approximate around £800-1000 per PC, I would need to purchase the software which would be some modelling software, this would be around £1,400 per year. The other software I would need is unreal engine 4 but at the moment it has just been released for free and so I would not need to pay for this software.

Release Date
As the game would take approximately 75 man months (6.5 years) I can give an approximate release date for late 2022. Because of when the game would be finished in production I would try and aim to have the game out for sale in mid-late November this is because it could be part of the Christmas release and so would help boost inital sales.

Ethical
Our game contains a high amount of graphic violence for this to be avoided to cause a legal stir we will be adding a high age rating on between 16 and 18. This will cause for a buy at own risk sort of thing so we can no longer be held accountable for stupid people who ignore age ratings, they are there for a reason.
Our game will be ridiculing different aspects of politics and the future state of the world as such we will need to be careful as to who we insult and what we say.
The game will contain strong language from the characters which may also include some stereotyping and racial slurs as a result of this the age rating will again need to be kept at around 16-18 and we will include warnings on the box and warnings before the game starts also the ability to disable it within the game.

Legal
The game will be using our own music, art and voices which should eliminate any copyright concerns along with this we will be making sure to not go into to many touchy subjects which may come across as offensive to a wider audience such as child slaughter, idealising terrorism, ect ect.

Gantt Chart
I created a Gantt Chart of approximately how the development of the game and all assets creation in a level, this would just be the creation of one level and so would need to be repeated approximately 9-10 times in order to create the entire game, this process would get quicker each time its repeated though as some assets or sections of the game can be either copied or reused so to save time. Other things for example the Character and Enemy bones and animations would not need to be recreated only edited so that they would work in each level.

Lo3: Game Concept 2 Early Level Designs and Character

2nd Game Concept & Treatment

Time Drift:
The game Time Drift is a FPS action adventure with roguelike elements, this means that once you die you restart from the beginning again. The object of the game is to proceed though levels in order to kill the final boss at the end of the game. The game will work on room to room basis, this means that when you enter a room you have different obstacles to hide behind and you need to clear the room of enemies, in order for the next one to open. The will be split into 5 tiers and on each of the tiers there will be 4 levels once you have completed a level you then advance forward in tiers, when advancing in tiers the game will then randomly choose a level from the 4 in tier two, this then goes on until you complete the final tier in which you move onto the final boss level.

The style of the game is done in a similar way to the art style and environment you find in Portal and Portal 2, I would aim to create a clean and impressive atmosphere which really makes the player feel as though they are achieving something great when they get thought a level or complete something in a really awesome way. This was then helped by the way the firing and gameplay works out by using the ability to dive, roll and manipulation of time allows for all of this to happen in an even more impressive way

The target audience of the game is aimed at teen/young adults as it would require quite a bit of skill and a learning curve to get use to the game and the way it plays. I feel this age range would also appreciate the game the most due to them being the majority of people who play more fast paced shooters. The audience is also set like this due to the age restrictions I would aim to create it as a 12+ by using the enemies as robots and so no blood would need to be used, I would also ensure this by making sure of no bad language or sexual references.

Protagonist:
It all started years ago, a peaceful planet plunged into war and famine, al was lost for humanity But yet, a small glimmer of hope arose from the ashes of man. A selfless hero, bravely took the fight to the enemy. The fighting seemed endless until, they found a crashed enemy ship and found something inside that changed the face of war as we know it... But all seemed well until the enemies found where they were hiding in an submarine known only as "Possibility of wet weather", they delved straight into battle. The battle was brief and short as the enemies had the element of sup prise, they took what they need to stop the weapon from being created and teleported away.
The is where the hero comes in... With this character you shall advance off the submarine and fight your way to the enemy spaceship and destroy them once and for all!

1st Game Concept & Treatment

Materialise Destruction:

The main concept of the game is that it is a FPS online battle arena using free running and voice commands. The game consists of multiple game modes and focuses strongly on realistic physics where we will be using Nvidia PhysX. The game is centred around the theme of materialising weapons and armour by speaking so if you are in a close quarters engagement you might want to have a shotgun so you would say materialise shotgun. This allows for a diverse and interesting environment in which anything could be brought into the game world in order to fight off your opponents. The aim of the game is to survive and be the last team standing in the arena.

The games story is that the world has been thrown into a downhill spiral through a corrupt government that has forced the world to split into three factions (names still undecided) These factions constantly go to war and fight over territories only using their most elite men because no normal man would stand a chance. The military prior to this had developed a new device to allow for any materials within your armoury to be spawned in front of you, these factions have managed to get their hands on this device however it is rather unrefined and can only summon a certain amount per battle. The factions will be at war constantly one upping the others trying to gain leeway in this war for world domination.

The target audience for the game would be young adults up to adults (15+) this would be down to the darker content that would be in the game along with sometimes potentially scary atmospheres created by the levels. This along with the first person shooter aspects and character development allows for someone of this age to be the perfect type of person to get the most from the game

The game consists of these three factions

Faction one
This faction spawned from former Russia and Ukraine and spans across the idea that all parties should be treated equally and spans from the original Idea of  Communism however like most of the world human greed corrupts this idea and makes it so the faction falls into the poorer of them having unrefined military weaponry.
 Pros
- Fearless military
- Strongest (physically)
 Cons
-Corrupt government
-Weak weaponry

Faction Two
Spans from the Americas and has a strong sense of military concepts however drugs and murder are a strong aspect within their society along with having conflicts within the areas formally known as South America and North America. The North is far more stable and has less of a drug problem however the faction is massively in debt and has little to no funding for anything other than military.
Pros
- Strongest Weaponry
- Most Resources
Cons
- Will often end up fighting people within your own faction
- A huge drug problem meaning that often you will be docked resources due to being caught in possession.

Faction Three
This spawns from the Asian side of the world however it only includes the countries that were able to survive the first blitz witch include Japan, China, North Korea and South Korea. This faction differ each other from their countries and run under similar  governments to what was previously in their countries. they rely mostly on each other for trade and have minor disputes between each other but mostly on a governmental level. Due to the war they lost most of their military aspects and population and as such have the smallest army.
Pros
-Economically Stable
-Most advanced technology
Cons
-Minor disputes which can end with a docking of materials for war
-Smallest army.
